Vacuum packing liquids

For an even longer shelf life, more efficient storage and taste explosions.

Leak-free packaging that maintains product quality

Whether for food preparation, laboratory work or industrial use, vacuum packing liquids offers many advantages. As pressure in the chamber reduces, so does the boiling point of the liquid, which means you need a machine that detects boiling point. This ensures that all liquids are properly packaged and that they retain their quality. It also prevents contamination of the pump. If you want to package soups, sauces, cocktails or other liquid products, choose a Henkelman chambervacuum packing machine with the liquid control option. This gives you endless possibilities.

Which liquids can be vacuum packed?

Soups, sauces and bouillons
Portioning and vacuum packing these products gives them a longer shelf life while retaining their quality and flavour.
Cocktails
As well as portioning cocktails, vacuum packing also ensures that additional flavours such as cinnamon, lime or star anise are absorbed deeper into the product, for an ultimate taste explosion.
Laboratory liquids
From solvents to cell structures and liquid samples, vacuum packaging ensures that these liquids are protected from outside factors.
Industrial liquids
From oils to ink and lubricants, vacuuming sealing prevents oxidation and / or colour loss. Vacuum packing industrial liquids

Advantages of vacuum packing liquids

Extended shelf life

Vacuum packing removes virtually all the oxygen from the packaging. This helps minimise exposure to oxygen which reduces oxidation and spoilage. This extends the shelf life of the liquid.

Maintain freshness and flavour (nutrition)

The absence of air in the packaging minimises the chance of bacterial growth. This preserves the flavour and freshness of liquids, which is especially important for drinks, sauces and soups.

Optimised storage and transport

Removing air from the packaging reduces the size of liquid packages. This more compact size means that you need less space to store and transport your products.

Minimise crystallisation

For certain liquid products such as syrups, vacuum sealing offers the benefit of minimising crystallisation. This means that each product retains its flavour and quality.

Conservation of nutrients

When vacuum packing nutrient-rich liquids, the absence of oxygen slows down the breakdown of nutrients.

Vacuum packing liquids

Vacuum packing liquids is easy using a Henkelman machine with liquid control. Make sure that products are well chilled before you start. Portion the liquid in the bags, place the bags with the edge over the sealing bar, close the lid and select the required programme. The liquid control function detects when your liquid boils and automatically initiates the next step in the vacuuming process. Once the bag has been sealed and the vacuum chamber has filled with air again, you can remove your product. Some useful features when working with liquids are:

Liquid Control

Stops the vacuuming process when evaporation is detected. This prevents contamination of the chamber, oxidation of the pump, and dehydration and loss of weight

Frequently asked questions

Why is my product boiling?

Pressure in the vacuuming machine decreases during the vacuuming process. This also lowers the boiling temperature of any liquids present in your product. When the vacuum chamber reaches a pressure that results in a boiling temperature that is lower than the actual temperature of the product, the liquid present will boil.

Should I discard a product if it boils?

No. The vacuuming process stops when a product boils. This may mean that the intended final vacuum pressure is not achieved. You do not have to discard your products, but the shelf life of your product may be reduced.

Is my product affected by boiling while under vacuum?

That depends on the product. There is hardly any effect on pure liquids such as water. Is liquid part of your product or is water incorporated into the product? Then it is possible that the water will evaporate when it boils. This can dry the product out. A composite product containing liquid can also curdle.

Is the vacuum packing machine speed adjustable?

There are several settings you can adjust to change the cycle speed of our automatic vacuum packing machines. These may also have an effect on the final packaging result.
